Beads of Courage Retreat

Hello to all in the Midwest Lampworkers Guild. My name is Robyn Wells and currently I am working on my Girl Scout Gold Award. My project focuses on a program called Beads of Courage. Beads of Courage is an arts-in-medicine program that brings strength and comfort to children being treated for serious illnesses. For every treatment and obstacle they go through, they are awarded a glass bead to document their experience.

For one part of this project I am going to provide a bead retreat day where anyone who would like to participate can create beads at no cost, to then be donated. The people who would benefit from this is children in the Beads of Courage program.

The Beads of Courage program is currently not in Nebraska, however, it will be soon, so the beads made during the retreat will go to Childrens Hospital right here in Omaha. The bead retreat is on Saturday, Febuary 18th. If you would like to come and donate your time creating beads that would be greatly appreciated. If you would like to donate money for supplies, or supplies for the day it would it would also help greatly.

If you would like more information on the Beads of Courage or Bead size requirements go to www.beadsofcourage.org. If you have any other questions, or if you would like to donate feel free to contact me at rhy7ish@gmail.com.

Thank you all so much for everything so far, I couldn't do this without all of your support.
